Special Instructions for CALS target college selection:

The CALS Internal Transfer admissions process includes a REQUIRED meeting with an Advising Contact for your target major. The purpose of the meeting is for you to understand the opportunities and requirements within the major, as well as to discuss how to complete required courses within the timeline of your expected date of graduation. Following this meeting, the Advising Contact will submit a feedback form to the CALS Admissions office regarding your candidacy, which will be included with your application materials. Specifically, responses to the following questions will be submitted by the Advising Contact:

1) Do you believe that the student has a solid understanding of the major?

2) Do you believe that the student should be able to complete the major requirements within the timeline of their expected date of graduation?

I understand that financial aid eligibility is determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment and that federal regulations (General Provision CRF 668.1) require that Cornell University review the academic progress of students who apply for and/or receive financial assistance. Satisfactory academic progress is comprised of three areas as required by federal regulations. A student must complete their degree within a specified period, demonstrate they are making progress towards the completion of their degree by earning a minimum number of credits hours each semester, and achieve a GPA that is consistent with meeting graduation requirements.
